Installed Termi 2-1, Now Questions

It was all day task, but a fun and finished task. I know I need to now go and get the tps reset and I will see if someone can do that tomorrow. My questions are : When you installed the 2-1 did you bike idle funny ?? Also, I started the bike not even 2 minutes and the rear cylinder pipe was extremely hot and there was smoke coming out of the exhaust after I turned it off.
Now, is this all normal before the tps reset ?? Also, it is ok to ride it to the dealer? the dealer is going to be either 20 min away or 45.
Please any feed back on this is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

If you installed the DP ECU I doubt its any leaner than stock even with the trim default at 0 for a new ECU. The smoke is likely just from the parts being new. If it starts OK your close enough for a 20 min ride, TPS default is very close, reset is just fine tuning.

Yeah, the 2-1 ecu and airbox. The smoke I assumed it was bc the pipe are new, but the 10-20 second engine running and the vert cylinder and pipe burning hot is what really worried me. So, thats my main concern getting so hot and then attempting to ride it too the dealer, especially duc nyc that might want to keep the bike for 2 weeks, its either that or gold coast in long island.

The pipe always gets hot fast if the bike sits and idles, plus its new so its going to "smell" hot and discolor too. Do you know anyone local with the VDST? 2 weeks is ridiculous, it takes a few minutes to do everything.

Hey Ferrell75002,

I installed the same exhaust a while back. I remember mine smoked a little the first time I started the bike. I think it was just oil on the the new pipe.

Anyway, I did not have the benefit of installation instructions and ended up with a lot of extra fasteners. (Later, I got the instructions and I think I still would have ended up with a bunch of left over bits and pieces...it's like they just threw a whole bunch of stuff in the bag and leave it up to you to figure it out )

A couple of days ago I noticed my back tire was barely rubbing on the pipe. Of course it only happens when the suspension is compressed. So, I started messing around with things to move the pipe out just a little. At first, I had the strap that surrounds the exhaust can attached to the exhaust hanger (the mounting bracket attached to the bike) by clamping the hanger in between the strap ends. Now I have the two ends of the strap located outboard of the hanger with a spacer in between and a bolt runs through the whole thing with a nut and a washer on the inboard side of the hanger.

Sorry I know my description might be confusing...I don't have any pictures...

First question to you (or anybody who has the same pipe): how did you arrange your exhaust can strap to exhaust hanger?

Secondly: Do you have or do you think you might have a rubbing problem?

An third: Did you have any left over parts like I did?

If anybody has any suggestions on this I'll really appreciate it!
