Custom Exhaust?
Can a custom exhaust system be easily made for these things? I don't particularly love anything that's out right now, and the price is really just killing it for me. I Would like to have a single can under the tail, that fills up a decent amount of space (kind of like the Honda CBR undertail style). So what is entailed in designing a system? Will a Honda silencer function (as far as back pressure) properly on a Ducati? Or are they just completely different animals. If I could find a shop to make a pipe system that could mount up to a CBR silencer, would the bike run fine?

It might take a little tuning but I cant imagine why it wouldnt work. there really isnt anything special about any of the slip on mufflers that you make it bike specific

I went with the Termi undertail slip-ons and a Zard collector system.
$1600.00.
Still sounds like a lot but better than buying the DP collectors. Plus I really like the Zards.

I don't think anyone here has done anything that custom, but i agree with you.The single can looks very nice on the CBR.Stock cans tend to be much more complicated inside (baffles and such) most likely for noise suppression. The Termi is just a plain perforated straight pipe surrounded by packing.I think the single, large can under the seat would be awesome on the Hyper and I'm kinda surprised nobody has produced one.
Have you measured the CBR can? Would it fit and if so how tightly? I'm sure one could be picked up on Ebay for a decent price, then gutted and redseigned internally. Then just bend a simple pipe to hook it up to the stock Hyper system minus the cat.Could be a fun project.

I was just sitting here thinking that I have nothing to do tomorrow. Building the slip on will be pretty easy. It's designing the trick/cool looking/functional outlet that has me. I'm going to search for some ideas and sleep on it.

Please do! As much as I love to be the first one to have/do something, I would definitely prefer to see that it can be done first. Please keep us posted.

Hey Chris, as you know I have acess to Mercedes Benz parts. The later vehicles have a pretty nice/clean oval tailpipe trim piece that just might be the ticket.Of coures if you do a websearch for exhaust tips, you'll find an overwhelming number of options.
