Powercommander and ECU Question
From what I understand, any HM with engine mods needs a different ECU to take the bike out of the closed loop set up. Once it's in the open loop set up, you can use a power commander.
Is this correct?
I want to get a Remus or other undertail exhaust set up. I also plan on getting a tpo intake and pod filters down the road. I'm going to get a power commander (or Rapid Bike module) and an ECU to run this set up.
Can I run any ECU? Will it matter if I use the slip on or race ECU since I'll be using a Powercommander?

Yeap 100% correct.
Won't make any difference whatsoever between the Racing or slipon ECU as you will be mapping it with the PC111.
The only thing you need to achieve for best results is open loop then game on.

You must get a DP ECU, the stock ECU is a closed loop system, all the DP ECU's are open loop, you can not turn a stock ECU into a "open loop" ECU, Aloha Alex

So I can keep my stock ECU and get PCIII and be good to go with an aftermarket system (thinking Leo Vince or Arrow)?
Thanks guys!

No, either DP slipon or race ECU but not your stock ECU.
Stock is closed loop, DP slipon and race ECU are open loop.

There was a thread about it about a month or two ago about some dude in Switzerland or Germany apparently but I can't remember who started that one, seems it was a lot cheaper than the DP ECU purchase.
