Hyper Disaster
Last Saturday started out great. 70 degrees out and sunny I took a nice spirited ride on some twisty country back roads to start the day out right. I came home and parked the bike in front of my house expecting to ride again later. Did some work in the basement for a few hours and then I heard a noise like a car door slaming. I went out to see expecting it to be my wife and kids, but to my horror found the Hyper laying on it's right side mirror smashed and broken off about 5' away. I ran over and picked it up and surveyed the damage. Right mirror and blinker trashed, right side tank gouged, rear brake lever bent and it pushed into oil case and scrached it. both passenger and right foot peg damage and to top it off the 1100S rear carbon panel gouged bad. Called Geico and put in the claim will have to part with the bike for like 3 weeks $500 deductable too. Just when the weather was getting nice. The only thing that puzzles me is I know I set the stand all the way and it was on level ground. I wonder if someone tried to swipe it but dropped it and ran. Oh well just needed to vent my frustration.

We all know the feeling, $500 is a lot of money, but it`s fixable and it will be perfect again, just keep riding it once you get the mechanical part OK.
Luckily you did not find a kid pinched under the bike getting burned with the pipes. When I leave my bike unattended, I park it with the right side as close as I can to a wall, and away from where kids can grab the muffler and hurt.
My picture shows a mishap between me an an SUV that backed up on a hill after his engine stalled, I was waiting behind it. It hurted my feelings, but again, it`s all plastic, metal and rubber.

Sorry to hear that. In reguards to Jonnymotocros' little mishap with the suv backing into you...Give yourself lots of room behind a stopped vehicle and stop to the left (or right if in England)of the vehicle incase anyone comes up behind you .I always have bike in gear at a stop light and look to see whats behind you.Give your self an ESCAPE ROUTE ....Thanks for the tip about parking it next to a wall..
