Shot in the dark-- know any tuners who need a set of forks to develop a kit?

Not sure if this is exactly appropriate here, so mods can move accordingly, but it's not really a classified post in my mind, but some might see it otherwise.

There is a story here, though...

For the last 6 months I've been trying to get an S model stanchion from Ducati (Anthony was trying to help, but even he couldn't get one) but in the end I bought a full set of forks from a guy in France off eBay.

They arrived packaged like a 5 year old did the job and way too scratched up for the stated condition and price I paid. The main issue is that against my instructions, the customs value was listed as ~$100 - so that is the max I could claim against the shipping company. Sure, that is something, but not enough to make me feel any better about scratched stanchions on the bike.

The forks are straight, the sliders are clean, and they appear to be fully functional. I'd put them up for sale, but I doubt anyone here would want them on their bike either, and I wouldn't advertise them as better than what they are, so I don't feel they are worth what I paid for them.

That said, they might be worthwhile for someone looking to build an internals kit because the scratches wouldn't matter. I wouldn't be giving them away, but a tuner might be willing to pay close to what I did for them.

If anyone out there knows someone who might be interested, feel free to PM me and I could contact them. I still might put them on the bike so i can ride as they are easy enough to take off.

Question

If your tubes are straight why don't you get "YOUR" stanchion tubes replated? I think you can even have them done in "GOLD!" Aloha Alex

One of my stanchions is bent- which is why I bought the forks...

The other issue is location. I can't find anyone in Singapore to do any work on the stanchions, so I have to ship things overseas and back to get anything done. If I sell the scratched forks I still wont be able to ride the hyper and I'll have to come up with a new plan to get back on the road...
