Front brake lever pull
My front brakes work good on my 08 S, but I have almost an inch of lever pull before the brake engages. I cannot find an adjustment to fix that, just the one that moves the lever in or out (but does not affect play).
I took it to dealer to make sure there was nothing wrong. He bled them to make sure. He said the next step is to replace the lever assembly and cylinder (warranty).
Does anyone else feel too much extra lever pull before the front brake engages? Any suggestions?

if you got the stock brake lever the plunger inside is uselesssss its a egg. if you can find a spare 749/999 lever with a plunger like your clutch side it will work try 58cycle.com for 18 bucks. u can adjust it any way u want.

Move to Brembos?
Mine, too. First 1/2 inch is soft, then, wham, lots of brakes. I can modulate it to deal, but yes, same problem. Also bled brakes & didn't help. Local, knowledgeable bike shop commented that the Duc stock brake lever/master cylinder is crap. I installed a great Brembo lever / cylinder on an R1200S a couple of years ago & WOW that helped.
Now thinking of doing the same thing for the Hyper. Just a little $400 fix.

just and fyi, this topic has been well covered in the past, you do not need to purchase additional parts to resolve this issue, you should never try to resolve a problem by throwing money at it.

Did it do anything to help with the front brake "moan/squeal"... really annoying every time I stop. Or is that more of a pad issue?
