porous tank / sweating or leaking?

I've noticed a smell of fuel after the HM's in the garage overnight or after sitting idle for a while, never thought much of it, but today I removed the seat to refit the red tail piece and found a layer of sweat around areas of the fuel tank, wiped it and smelt like old fuel...could the tank be porous/leaking and faulty... Fittings/lid appear to be secure, no damage, no alterations made...
Took it out for a short ride today out along backroads and up a few winding hills, perfect
day!! Coming back east from midway up the Blue Mountains I passed atleast 10+KM of gridlocked holiday traffic going the other way ....couldn't imagine enjoying that!!

sweetheart.

Question

That's wierd, no problems like that here. Recheck fittings? Aloha Alex

There is a post about the battery scouring a hole in the fuel tank.
