DP Racing Seat=No bueno
So I've been reading about how the DP Racing seat is the best thing you can get for these bikes. So believing the hype, I went out and bought one. Long story short, I hate it. It pushes me further back in the seat than the stock one, and is far less comfortable. I assume these are made for slightly larger folks since the bump stop is so far back. I'm a fairly thin framed guy, so sitting at the bump stop made me feel like I was lugeing through town on my stomach. So now I don't know what to do. Do I resell said seat? Or do i have it sent to a company like Sargent or Renazco for a re-pad/re-cover? Or do I deal with the racing seat while I have the stocker re-done? Basically I'm looking for something with a little bit of a bump to keep me planted, and maybe add some gel for comfort. I'm about to just tear into the stocker myself. Thoughts?

I don't think anybody uses the bumpstop as a stop... the cutaway is just to lower the center of gravity and seat height for the rider, and the back part of the seat remains padded for a passenger. I cut my stock seat and had a bump originally but didn't like it so I just tapered the whole seat and its better because you can slide your butt way back for a nice flat tuck.

Oh, I see. Well I have no problem with the center of gravity on the stocker. I just thought the DP seat was to keep you planted with a bump. If it's just designed to do that by lowering the center of gravity, I shouldn't have bought it. How hard was it to re-do the stocker? Any tips?
Anybody wanna buy a brand new DP Racing seat?

Someone recently posted pics of cutting down the stocker. If I didn't ride daily and had the time to get it done in a day I would cut it down too. I have been trying to buy a second seat on the cheap to not have to down the bike to cut it up and experiment. Search for seat mod.... If I find it I will send a link.

Well I do have tips... I started this thread a month ago about cutting your seat. You just need the basic skills and patience to do it... Some one will definately want your seat.

Take it back to the dealer and trade it for a DP Comfort Gel seat. It might be more of what you looking for. If that doesn't work shave down the stocker to your liking.
Out!

I will have to check that out. Unfortunately I bought the seat from fleabay. I don't think the Dealership will be willing to trade.

Just the link I was looking for. How is it now that you've had time to ride on it Antigrav?
