Bridgestone BT016 Users
Hey All,
Sorry in advance...there seems to have been a rash of Tire Questions lately...I guess it's the season for it.
I've searched and can't get a good concensus on how these tires work for the street and track. I'm getting ready to replace the Stock Diablo Corsa III's and want to give the Bridgestones a shot. I've been a fan of the Michelin SM Specific tires for my SXV but the price of the Bridgestones in comparison to the C2T's have me wavering.
I'll be doing mostly street but once a month may bring it out to be stable mates with my Aprilia SXV for some go cart track fun! I'm not too interested in swapping tires out everytime I take it there, just curious on how they perform when pushed a bit on the track.
Thanks in advance for the info!

I had a set on my 848 and they're good street tires. On the track I wasn't too happy though, the edge compound is very soft and quickly overheated. After a few laps I was spinning and sliding.
The BT002 RS is a better trackday tire, probably not as good as the 016 if it's wet out though. I generally don't ride in the wet so I'm happier with 002's.

I love the BT016 so much that I have them both on my Hypermotard and Husky 610. I trust them, for me they feel even more sticky than the Corsa III, they are fast to get to temperature. I ride mostly twisty roads that look like a supermoto track
From what I see, I don't feel they will last any longer than the Corsa III, but then I kill my rear tires on 1000 to 1500 miles on either bike, because of riding only twisty roads on abrasive pavements....

I haven't tracked mine, yet, but my BT016's definitely have better feel and grip than the BT014's my bike came with. The bike feels "suppler" over rough stuff too. As for wear, so far I think they'll last longer than the BT014's did.

BTO16's
I'm going on my 3rd set of BTO16s, used mostly on Canyons & Trackdays, for me
I like them even better than the Corsa IIIs, and they cost a lot less to boot!
BUT! these are not mileage tires, probley about the same as the Corsa III's
wich is not very good. If you don't care about the track, I would get the Syncs,
as they last a LOT longer. Aloha Alex

Thanks for all the responses...it sounds like I'll have to give them a shot.
I'm not worried about mileage, if it says "Went broke buying tires for my motorcycle!" on my Tombstone.....it was a good life!

i have a new 016 front with about 15 miles on it! its good.. had an 016 on the back for a while and a track day. well grippy! infact it had too much grip compared to the 014 on the front that i had. now with both and still scrubbing the front it feels good. I've always loved bridgestone as street rubber, lost of feedback for me and feels right. pretty good in the wet too. I'll be sticking with them until the 8 compound hoop comes out!

For years i was a PR guy for the track and 2CT for the street. Last year tried the new BT003's and fell in love with the way they made my GSXR 1K stick. I also loved the way they lasted, loved them so much that I put the BT016's on the street GSXR. Love the wear and feedback.
Now the key to all the new stones is air pressure.... On the track you put the bike on the warmers for 45 min go out and run a few haot laps and come back. Check air pressure it should be at 32 PSI if it is too low or tow high the tire will wear fast and will get greasy. Keep that in mind and you will have a blast on them...

i only have one ride on my bridgestones. i only had the pirelli's on them before with the stock set. i decided after 2200 mi and that nothing was really impressive with the pirelli's id try the bridgestones. they are awesome. i like the way they stick and the way the bike drops. i will put bridgestones on again.
