HM advice
I really want an HM, but I can't find one in the South East at a good price. My locate Duc dealership is trying to sell an 08 for $500 off MSRP. Is this guy on crack. I found another dealership a few hours away that selling 08's for $9999, but they charge $2000 for dist charge and dealer fees . What are these guys smoking. Can anyone in the SE recommend a Duc dealership that has fair prices and descent customer service. I understand it's a Ducati and there's a price for admission, but DAMN..

Where are you located?
In my experience, most " additional" fees will cost you $1,000.00-$1,500.00. This includes Documentation fee's, Freight delivery of the motorcycle and time needed for proper assembly and vehicle set-up.

Have you considered buying used instead? You can get a 2008 HM S with 300 to 1500 miles for $9K to $10K just about anywhwere and shipping cross country is only around $500. Prices like that make buying a standard model off the dealer very unattractive...

Seriously. If the insurance company totals my bike I'm going to do one of two things:
1) Buy a used S model at the prices listed above (if I can find one)
2) Buy a ST4-S and travel the United States on Iron Horseback.
Choice 2 makes me feel old ... I am too young to feel old.

"anywhere?"
Here in the Cali one can find S versions for $10,750-$11,500. There were three for sale in that price range just recently until I bought one of them.
Yes, buying used makes cents.

I think buying used is my best option. Now If I can just find an "s" model between $9.5 - 10.5

I just picked up a 2008 S model for $10,300 on ebay. It only had 1400 miles on it. Looks show room new. It's the second vehicle I bought on ebay each one was a smooth transaction.

I bought a Harley on flea bay and sold my monster and that same Harley on craigslist. Have you tried searching CL? I did go pick up the Harley, I didn't want it shipped to me sight unseen.
Good luck whichever way you go. You can't go wrong.
