"S" front brake issues
Just curious if anyone has had any problems with their front brakes dragging? I put a CRG shorty lever on a few weeks ago and ever since then, the brake light stays on all the time now.
I felt like the bike was dragging a little today, so I gave it some gas and popped the front wheel up just for grins, and when the I set the front end down, I damn near went over the bars because the front brake was dragging.
Do you think this is related to the lever, or could the piston be sticking?
Anyone else had the same issue???

I think you answered your own question, I would take the lever off and compare to the OEM lever for a start, maybe put you OEM lever back on to see if the problem goes, that much drag is dangerous.
Assuming you didn't do anything with your wheel and alter the c/c distance between your forks you should be fine.

I have a stock standard 08 S which is only a couple of hundred miles old. When I pop the wheel up and put it down again the puff of blue smoke and subseqent shudder is like a jumbo jet touching down.
I have yet to investigate the reason.

Thanks Monstaman...I'll start with the OEM lever and try that. I haven't touched the front wheel or changed anything so I hope it's just something with the lever.
The brakes worked fine up until yesterday though...that's what's strange

sounds like the pin on your CRGs are too far out
use a caliper to compare it to the length of the pin from your oem levers.
oh and fix it asap

If you have a stand or can somehow raise the front wheel up to spin it, it will be much easier to diagnos the problem.
I would definately start by removing the shorty lever.

I had the same issue with my 749 and the CRG levers. 1- the plunger was too far out and it didnt have enough room to expand when the heat built up causing it to lock on its own. My lever felt real stiff and had a real short travel before it bit. I pulled the plunger all the way in and found a good length, then it worked properly.there should be some free play before the front brake bites. insert the plunger all the way in then work outward from there, u can put the old lever back on but to get a feel of how it should feel before it bites. but the measurement in my opinion will not be the same as these are different levers with different angles of engagement. My plunger is all the way in its housing and its perfect.

I had the same problem with the shorty's. I had to adjust the handguards alittle and added acouple of washers to shim it and it took care of the problem..
