back with a vengean"S"e
remember my thread about having to return my Hyper because the republic of Cali DMV refused to issue title? Fixable/disputable, or not...I moved on, and I have now purchased a Hyper S as a replacement (the one i returned was a standard).
The reason it is in a cage is because.... it is dangerous !!! ...no ... it was a 6 hour rush hour trip to get it and no public transport to the destination.
In sum...I ended up throwing away a couple hundred bucks with the previous transaction, but I only paid 800 more for the S six months later.
Maaaan...those monoblocs bite....!

You got more than $800 worth of parts, I can tell you that for sure. Still kinda wish I bought the "S" ...
Congratulations on the new purchase; enjoy it in good health. It says you're in Belmont - is that Belmont Shores? If so, you should ride up for tomorrow morning's ride...

I justified the S as something different from the last one, but I was actually happy with the standard, even thinking that the less grabby brakes were safer for a new rider (I know they are better for stopping, but newbies grab too much). I am told that the lighter wheels make the most difference. Adjustability of the rear suspension does not yet matter for me, but I think I can feel a difference in unsprung weight.
I wish I could join you guys for the Hollister ride. I can always jump out for coffee/ to Woodside, but a longish ride is not in the cards 2 days before my international trip...A few too many loose ends to chase down.

She is used, with 2400 miles on the clock, and it was a repo, now with a clear title !
BTW....this takes me back to some memorable scenes in the movie, Repo Man...
Originally...I was looking for the transport issue to become an excuse to purchase a versahauler/moto-tote/joehauler rack, but I ended up renting the u-haul trailer for 23.95 per day. 4 ratcheting tie downs and 4 straps later she was pretty secure. The guy who sold it to me was very helpful. If I had tied it down...there would have been marks or stability issues. I supposed I should have more tie down / S&M experience, living so close to San Francisco...
The rack will still be useful for service drop offs, although I plan to do most of the small stuff on my own.

Belmont must be up North. Belmont Shores is by Long Beach. The LA boys be canyon carving tomorrow AM. I thought you might be game but it looks like it might be a bit far for ya.
You'll notice the lighter wheels IMMEDIATELY. A nice bonus is that it wheelies easier, too.

yep, I am by the SFO airport, south of San Francisco.
Just went on a shake down ride after charging the weak battery and reinstalling the shift-tech pegs (foot too big, even with factory clutch lever adj. at max spacing)....For some reason...this example has a much fresher clutch, and it is a pleasure to ride, even in traffic, on the few city streets before I reach ocean. This is gonna be fun !
