Laguna Seca DB limit..2-2 termi too loud??Urgent
It looks like i'm heading to Laguna Seca for a last minute track day this Monday with the Pro-Italia crew. I'm assuming my 2-2 Termi slipons will be too loud??? Did the termi slipons come with DB killers or baffles? The dealer installed the cans and i never looked in the box. Thanks

I think the people with Termis said they had removable dB killers. I know the LVs do and my Zards have to be ordered with or without them. Do a quick search and you will find the answer. Good luck, have fun, it sounds like a good time!
Out!

I don't know if they are too loud for Laguna. But I can tell you the 2-2 Termi comes with dB killers.

Laguna Seca can be a pain, when a group of us Hypers went to do a track day at Laguna, we put back on the cat & stock mufflers, to be safe, and even then, Da_bull (Marco) got popped for sound because of his TPO intake system!
I did see a lot of home-made deflection devices, such as metal heater duct ells, clamped on, pointed to your left side, so be safe, take the Db killers, or even your stock exhaust, just to be sure, its a LONG way to go to find out your not able to ride, just my two cents, Aloha Alex

Yes, it's true. I got the Meatball for sound because of my TPO intake ... 95db on a 92db limit. That was strictly intake noise.
I'd been chopping throttle all morning out of turn 5 up the hill past the sound booth but, that particular time by, I was trying to pass some slow guy on a Monster so I just went WTFO and threw caution to the wind. I blew the guy off but when I went past Start/Finish out came the Meatball.
Here's what followed:
I had to pull off the track and wait a minute (supposedly to make the necessary adjustments that would enable me to get under the db limit [the reality was I didn't do shit]) before pulling back up to the Start/Finish line to do the 3 sound check laps. The first lap around I failed due to being too close to other bikes so the sound patrol couldn't get a good read on me. So, they made me go around again ... and I failed because I was OBVIOUSLY chopping the throttle past the booth. So I went around again and rolled off smoothly going past the booth ... they finally passed me and I was good to go the rest of the day.
Here's what I learned:
You can pretty much make as much noise as you want anywhere on the track except the short squirt between the exit of 5 and the entry to 6. If you roll off the throttle for that short period of time you shouldn't have any issues coming in under 92db. Also, if you do want to keep it WTFO then it's best to do it when surrounded by other bikes because the Noise Nazis won't be able to pinpoint you ... BUT that's not a guarantee. Finally, if you do get popped for sound pretend you don't realize the Meatball flag is for you. You'll get at least one or two extra laps and if possible, get popped at the end of a session. That way, you can do your sound check during the next session and get a free session of laps under the premise of "Sound Check".
HAVE FUN!!

Laguna is very strict with db levels. You'll get meatballed unless you run the db killers with the termi 2-2 slipons. Even with the db killers it might be iffy.
On foggy/moist cool mornings, it's typical for sound levels to register slightly higher, be prepared for that too.
Stock s2000's have tripped the db meters at laguna.
Depending on the event you're running, they can single you out and be really strict. Even chopping the throttle at T5, the corner worker at T8 will radio you in since the sound bounces off the walls through T8.
I love Laguna Seca but found the novelty wore off after a few years. Maybe on a motorcycle I might want to make another visit.

Man, what a pain in the ass. The only time I rode at Laguna was a couple of years ago for the Ducati dealers meeting - they weren't checking sound then... I had a Hyper wtih 2into1 full system and there were several other bikes outfitted like that - and an NCR running around too.
I don't think I'd bother going there if I had to put stock exahust on or roll of the throttle at certain places... that doesn't sound like fun to me!
