Possible Problem & 1 Solution

i bought one of the vented clutch covers and changed the pressure plate and springs. after the clutch almost ate me britches, i opted for a dp carbon clutch cover. the problem is: i think the new springs stick out a little farther on the new clutch plate. when i installed the carbon cover, i heard scraping. i had an extra gasket laying around, so i doubled them up...wallah! problem solved.

Nicely done! I'm hoping my Scudo cover won't want to take my pants off; I'd hate to get taint all over my seat...

Don't forget to remove yer 'Advance' sticker

Might want to consider changing that rear brake fluid.

Just curious now... what kind of pressure plate do you have? It must be
really tall; a lot of guys run no gasket at all with their open type clutch
covers. I'm running an STM pressure plate and a Paulimoto billet cover
with no gasket and there is clearance: the height of the cover is 44 mm
on the outside, inside clearance to the tops of the spring retainers is 3.5 mm.

The original Hyper clutch cover is a little shorter than my Paulimoto at 41 mm.
So I might have to use the gasket with that one, which does reduce
clutch music (noise?) a bit by damping the vibes of the metal cover.
