Maybe, depends on what ECU your using, if your running the stock ECU with NO device like the Power Commander, I would not open the airbox
up, the bike will run too lean, but if have an DP performance ECU by all means open it up, top & bottom, you'll gain 4 to 5 HP! but you might have to have the TPS reset. Aloha Alex

You won't need to reset the TPS but if you have the DP ECU then yeap definitely fuel it up accordingly or as Alex said it will run too lean.
If you don't have the DP ECU you are pretty much cornered into doing nothing except maybe an O2 manipulator.

You can vary the signal to the ECU, basically it tells lies to the ECU and it adjusts the fuel accordingly.
You could do the top of the box hole pretty safely down that track but if you wanted to go K&N etc then an ECU is strongly advised.
You can't run a PC111 with the stock ECU as the stock ECU runs closed loop, the DP ECU allows it to run open loop and accordingly the PC111.
Hope this is all clear.

this is the most expensive bike I've ever owned to work on. My last bike (TLR), you could reflash the ECU for free, and you could do the TPS and TB sync yourself.
