No bottom out rubber on the 'zoke so it makes a rather harsh transition to "bottomed out". Kinda sounds metal to metal.
I think you are there.
I know I am.

my ziptie never reaches very close to the axle casting for me either. No matter what compression or sag settings that I have at the moment. From what I've gathered, many hypers have the wrong amount of fork oil from stock that is prohibiting them from achieving full travel.

On mine, there is a mechanical bottom out about 1 inch before the end of the tube. When mine were apart with cartridges and springs removed the sliders would go all the way down to the housing.

Is there a hydro stop like the Zoke 45mm Shiver off road fork? Hard to beleive there would be a hard mechanical stop.

The fork seems very progressive and overdamped, like it has too soft progressive springs and/or a high oil level, and moves into the later, stiffer part of the travel too fast. What oil level have you guys been running?

I have to take mine off and see whats going on but don't have a front stand yet.

I have an "S" model. Swapped the factory 7.5 wt for 5 wt in an attempt to smooth things out a bit. Helped a little, but not much. Went from 5 wt to 2.5 wt and it did make a pretty big difference. It seems like I recall that my damper rod would go all the way down, but after the springs were installed it wouldn't go down as far. Probably the factory beehive front coils binding before full travel is reached. When I tested mine with wire ties and suspension set to full loose during full braking at low speed, there would be a metallic click when the suspension bottomed out early. It did not damage the dampening capabilities of the cartridges, so once again I am assuming it was the coils. I would like to have a set of front coils that would lets us use the full travel of our forks but since I installed the fasst bars it's is not that big of an issue to me.

They go to 40mm from the bottom so you can mark it there. With the springs out and cap on you can check the travel.

I have gone back to 7.5 wt oil and only 400 mls per leg, I am running 5mm wire spring linear rate at 12 mm pitch so the springing is superior.

My forks however are stictiony and we are going through the process at present to get them sorted.

Factory oil volume states 480 mls and 104 mm height, this does not work as you require 630 mls to get the 104 mm so the book is miles out and this has now been acknowledged by Ducati.

at 450mil of oil in each leg i bottomed mine out easy. big clunk and tie wrap was 30 or 40mm from the bottom. added an extra 50ml to each and it was much better and have not bottomed since. I'm happy with my front end now, seems spot on to me for a stock fork.
