Thumbs up Garmin Nuvi 255 on Hyper

Just back from a test ride after mounting my Nuvi 255. This is an inexpensive GPS but does what I want with no gimmicks. I used a Ram mount with short arm and a hard wired cable. A good place to get +12V keyed power if your running a DP ECU is from the lambda sensor connector. Clean install and works perfect. Good for finding gas and doing away with paper maps. If it rains it comes off easy or a baggie can go over it. Too dark now but I'll try and post a pic tommorrow.

I too avoided spending the big bucks on a motorcycle specific GPS, got the
Garmin 760 for $240 and fabbed my own mount. I don't ride this bike in the
rain, so didn't need waterproof and some of the other motorcycle features.
These things are a hoot-- and you don't run off the edge of the map like
you do with paper maps .

The Nuvis are not, but Garmin has the Zumo series that are.

I am using a Nuvi 760 on my VFR in conjunction with a RAM aqua box. Here is a few pics of the set up.
