what is that switch on the clutch lever?

It looks like it would be a brake light switch, but I know its not.
Is it a rev limiter or rpm cut out or something?

Just to let the bike know you have the clutch in if you try to start it. won't start if clutch isn't pull while in gear

If the bike is in gear, prevents engaging the starter without the clutch pulled
in. As with cars, there are several safety interlocks attached to enabling
the electric starter. Not a bad idea-- who really wants the bike to be
attempting to lunge forward at the touch of the starter (not to mention
the strain on the starter motor and gears)? It's all good...

At least we don't have that stupid kickstand switch that prevents the bike from running with the kickstand down, even in Neutral!
