Installing 'S Monoblocks on a Standard Hyper
After spending the past few weeks riding my 1098, Saturday I took my Hyper out for the first time in over a month. The first thing I noticed was the lack of braking power it had compared to the 1098 Monoblocks. They take so much more effort and lack that initial bite that is so addictive. Given the fact that used Hypers aren't worth much of anything right now, and my standard model is so overloaded with stuff I've given up on ever selling it, I'm thinking I might want to change the brakes to the 'S model Monoblocks, if it's not stupidly expensive. Does anyone know what this involves (just calipers and pads, or master cylinders, rotors, etc..?) and have any idea of what to expect in cost.
Thanks!

I know for sure the rotors are different on the S model. They are much bigger than the non S, also the calipers are different. I think the master cylinder is the same though. As for cost...you got me. EXPENSIVE i'm sure! I haven't been on a 1098, but I love my Hyper. If the 1098 is that much better...WOW!!!!!

My bad, my buddy has an S model. His rotors (circumference) seem bigger than mine. They look like they take up more of the wheel. That's what I was going off of. I'll shut up now!!!

Are there any pads that will give more bite than stock on the standard calipers?

I wish my Multi braked as hard as my Hyper but I just remember to pull the lever a little harder. A lot cheaper than putting new brakes on a bike.
Hey, if you are on the ragged edge I completely understand. If not just pull the lever a little harder and save yourself some big bucks.
Hey, if your rich, wtf!

Pads would certainly help. Of course with more aggressive pads usually comes more rotor wear but hey it's only money and rotors are not the most expensive part to replace. Desmoworks has a very nice ISR mono block as an alternative to the Brembo, if they fit the Hyper.

Try some Vesrah Super RJL's. A lot more initial bite. Also swapping to a different master bight be cheaper and will also help - talk to Fred at Yoyodyne - http://yoyodyneti.com/
