Other than the red anodizing on a few bits, it looks nothing like Elkas. Elka makes great performing and looking shocks, at least in my off road experience. That thing looks like it was assembled from the left over parts bin from the Circuit City liquidation sale.

Ohlins for the win.... the price diff is not that much in the end when you compare them all....

Not really. If you take a closer look at the multi-colored "Sponge Bob" special, you can see that the shock shaft is narrower, the reservoir is smaller, and generally looks like it was assembled with a bunch of oddball parts. With the way that thing looks, I can't imagine putting that on a bike.............not my bike anyway.
It would be good to see if Elka has done anything for the Hyper. They list Ducati, but not specific model for the Hyper. I think they state custom build.
Generally, the safer bet would be Ohlins or Penske.............any way it is a lot of money, you may as well get something proven.

i would go elka hyper over stock ohlins any day. I don't think the stock ohlins offers much over the stock non-s version in terms of valving, the specs given to both were probably the same seeing as the front is the same.
