Not very. I use 5nm (just under 4 ft-lbs.) on carbon parts with a nylon washer
under the bolt head. Carbon fiber is tough but you can smash the material
as with fiberglass. A little Loc-tite helps prevent things from vibrating loose.
If you're a detail phreak like me, get some anodized aluminum screws from
Pro-Bolt and really do it "right". I bought a kit of eight fancy red anodized
big head M6 screws for under $10 (Dennis-Kirk 360-7340). OK, it's bling,
but it's subtle, stealthy bling.
