its a sickness

I did some polishing today, stealing member C2D's idea, I drilled out the rear brake lever and polished it out. While I was at it I cut down stock levers and then using a tig welder and some filler rod, built up another ball end. BAM! Free shorty's so I polished up the new shorty's(which turned out factory clean) and while at it did the front sprocket cover and bar clamp.
Next is some black accent paint on the sprocket cover embossment and the holes in the lever, then install.

That stuff would look real good on my black hyper. If you have a red one you should trade me for my stock stuff. I don't think it will look right on your bike.

I applaud your ingenuity and hard work.

But, I have to ask, when are you going to install your chromed and lengthened, drag racing swing arm?

Will that come with a 280 or 300 rear?

Out!

I polished the top triple clamp once on my CBR. WOW, that was a bad idea. On a sunny day it would reflect the sun light right into my face. Not sure if you will have the same problem but it might be something to look forward too. Oh, that was the last time I polished a triple clamp.

that was the first thing i thought of when i started on the bar clamp. pretty small surface area and if it is a problem i will give it a d.a. grinder or scotchbrite finish.

Less bling, more zing!!!How'd that flywheel work out for ya? Did you install yet? Don't tell me you're polishing the case cover while it's off.You know you thought about it.

The bars have been off since "operation flywheel" so I have been waiting to fire her up until I could hold on, most likely today. The reassembly went well so I don't expect any problems. THANKS AGAIN for the help with that Neil!
Of course only now that I (you) have cut down my flywheel I find a well written thread on why not to lighten the flywheel so I can only hope it's as good as most of the hyper guys believe it to be.
Lightweight Flywheel - Pros and Cons
You are right about polishing the engine cover, it did cross my mind
