DP Carbon Fit Quality
Gents,
I ordered a Ducati Performance tank cover and rear hugger. This is the second set as the first ones were returned for poor finish quality. These are much better and have met my expectations.
When I tried to install both pieces, neither fit well. Question is - Has anyone had to replace fasteners? The tank cover has two tapered fasteners for the tapered plastic stock cover but the carbon cover isnt tapered. The more serious of the fit problems with the tank cover is that it doesnt center up well with the gas tank filler neck. It tends to walk forward when you tighten the fasteners. Has anyone been forced to elongate holes to get a reasonable fit?
What about those little nylon washers? Under or over top of the carbon. Common sense would tell me to place the nylon washer between the bolt head and the carbon fibre.
How did you solve these problems? (I'm not looking for someone to tell me to buy someone else's product)
Thanks in advance

The washers go under the bolt head so you don't leave an impression from the bolt head in the carbon.
On the other question you have I rather stay silent but sorry to hear you have so much trouble, should not be like that.

DP stuff is pathetic. Shift-tech carbon is much nicer quality. He probably didn't want to say that himself.

I bought the rear hugger and the CF windshield from Shift Tech. It took 15 minutes for both installs. The fit and finish was perfect and matched the existing CF on the S. I would return and recommend ordering from Shift Tech. Guido also gives us a discount.

I installed a shift-tech tank cover and a carbonworld hugger. Carbonworld is from Germany and it fit perfect. The tank cover also fit perfect.

Yes, I did read your post completely. OK, so now the finish is OK, but you can't mount it on the bike....and that's OK.? Return it before you can't after you modify it to fit. Hell, you paid good money for it, you should be able to mount it...no?
If you want a quality CF product, then Shift-Tech is the only answer. Sorry, but that is the only answer.
