New Bar Ends
Decided to replace my hand guards with DP stalks w/ integrated turn signals.
The bad news.... With the guards off there's a butt ugly extension beyond the grips.
The solution..... Multistrada bar ends, extra long bolts from Virgils Hardware and have your father machine a couple of spacers to fill in the gaps.
Whatayathink?

The bar ends really helped with the vibes, eh?

Nope sorry it doesn't work for me the left hand is too long. It's a good fix for the problem but replace the bars (there made of chocco anyway) and the problem is no more.

I decided to go without the hand guards, at least temporarily, because I wanted to change up the mirrors and bars. I opted for the DP mirrors with integral signals so I'd have the option of easily running with or without the guards. So, while I'm currently running with no guards and black Rizoma bar ends, I may decide at some point to go back to some sort of hand guard set up. Right now though, I prefer this look and feel.
The bars are Pro Taper Carmichaels which have a bit less rise than the stockers and most of the other Pro Taper bends. This has the effect of moving the riding position closer to a GT or Monster, although it's not quite as aggressive as a Monster. The main benefit for me is reduced wind blast.

SCOOTER: I like what you did with those bars so much that I just might have to get a set for myself.
I just pulled off my hand guards and was wondering what to do with the ugly bar end slot. Also I love the idea of lowering the bars a bit as well.
Job well done. They look the sh*t too!
