Questions about track day setup for Hyper
I'm trying to plan the first track day on my Hyper, and had a few questions about getting the bike ready. Do you guys usually remove your side mirrors completely, or just tape them closed? Does anyone know if it's possible to turn off the headlamp through one of the service menus, or some other way? I know the headlamp gets pretty hot and I really don't want to tape over it while it's on, and I was wondering if there's another solution other than pulling the bulb or the fuse.
I've got my suspension setup dialed in perfectly for moderately aggressive street riding, and really don't think I'll need to change that. Any other suggestions on prepping the bike for the track would be appreciated.

I'd remove the mirrors and pull the fuse for the headlight and taillight.

I remove the mirros, unplug the connectors for the tail light and blinkers, remove the tag and blinkers(take tag holder out), on the headlight, a remove the fuse and I already have my headlight covered with perforated vinyl, tape front blinkers, taillight and wheel weights...done

Different tracks require different things. Normally I remove the tail light and remove the license plate/turnsignals completely. I pull the connector on the headlight and tuck it into the frame. Tape over the headlight. Remove the mirrors completely and tape over the turn signal lenses. Tape the wheel weights. Recently I also had to safety wire the oil drain plug, oil filter, and oil filler cap. I used a hose clamp on the oil filter and drilled at a 45 degree angle from the bottom of the drain plug into the center with a 1/16" drill bit. Then wired them. It was quick and easy. The whole prep takes less than one hour. If you're running the Corsa III's you should consult a tire guy at the track for pressures. At Laguna Seca (fast track) I was told by Pirelli to run 31psi front and 30psi rear. I normally run approx 33psi on both ends for the track and 34psi for the street.
Hope this helps!

HA! That's a good start but still funny Definitely as good a list for a trackday as anything.
I'll have to revise it if we run that race again, the release at the bottom is way messed up.

Just keep an eye on your compression. Even if you have set up your bike for aggressive street riding, you will brake harder on the track than on the road so the front dives a bit more. If your compression is too soft the front will dive, take weight of the rear and you'll lock up the rear very easily. Ask me how i know!
