hypertard trackday @ buttonwillow ...

ciao a tutti -

i spoke with mark duncan (owner of the track club) and we discussed a trackday with special pricing for hypertard owners. he is going to get back to me with a few dates that he can swing a discount for the group. as soon as mark advises, i will set up a new thread with a poll, so everyone can vote if there are multiple dates available.

mark also suggested he might be able set it up so the hypertards (if we get enough owners signed up to attend) can have their own group, so it would be only hypertards on the track in those sessions.

more will be posted as i get more details from mark.

a presto,
johnc

BW is probably the most fun track in So Cal, with its Lost Hiss, and the wheelie bump!

I am there on March 7, with my 848.

and don't forget all the gophers in the fields surrounding the track

seriously ... if your new to track days, or have never done a track day ... button willow is one of the best tracks to get your feet wet, as it has the most runoff of any track on the west coast. the only obstacle you could hit is the pit wall that runs along the start/finish straight ... and to hit the wall, you would need to do a 90 degree turn in the middle of a straightaway.

so, if your interested in doing a track day, this might be your best opportunity to do it safely, and with a great group of people.

a presto,
johnc

This sounds cool, count me in, great of you to set it up Johnc.

And I second the fact that doing a track day at Buttonwillow with people to help you out is the way to go. This will be my third track day and the first one I ever did was at Buttonwillow on a Multistrada with peeps from the Multistrada board. It was a big help to have those guys there and show me the ropes, plus they were cool people. I was very nervous, but once your on the bike and see how safe the track is you can start to hang it out a bit. My second time was with the So Cal Hyper guys last month at Fontana and I wasn't half as nervous except about meeting the guys from the board thinking they may be dicks,... but as usual people who ride are super nice and friendly people and easy to hang with so that made the experiance that much funner. This third time should be even funner since I know some of you and will be even more relaxed...

We're not dicks but we play them on the forums. Better than playing with our dicks on the forum

prego antigrav ... and your first hand view of how helpful having friends around to coach you on a virgin trackday is well stated.

buttonwillow really is one of the best tracks to get your trackday feet wet ... there is plenty of runoff on all corners, the track surface is on par with other west coast tracks, and in the early part of the season, the weather is actually pretty good at the track.

once i get final pricing and dates from mark, i will post up ... and i suggest anyone who is considering a trackday on their hypertard ... this is a great opportunity to do it with friends.

a presto,
johnc

buttonwillow track day discounts for hypertard owners ...

ciao a tutti -

i spoke with mark, owner of the track club ... since it might be difficult getting all the hypertard owners to attend one single track day ... we put together a discount code for hypertard owners to use @ any of the buttonwillow track club track day, as shown below.

the discount code is hypertard, and will give you 25% off all dates except the memorial day event, which will be a 10% discount. to register and use your discount code, point your browser to: http://www.thetrackclub.com

hypertard owners can pick from any of the following buttonwillow dates in the next few months:
  • march 16th & 17th
  • april 20 & 21st
  • may 25th (memorial day) & 26th
  • july 25 / 26th & 27th

notes:
  • weekends are normally $175.00 ... the discounted price is $131.25
  • weekdays (except memorial day monday) are normally $125.00 ... the discounted price is $93.75
  • memorial day will be normally $175.00 ... the discounted price is $157.50

if you have any questions, either post here, or better yet, PM me.

a presto and happy track days.
johnc
