i remember back in like 1979 when my parents came back from a business trip in japan, one of there stories about the place was: how everybody had tv antennas on the roofs of there homes to make you think they had televisions when they did not have a tv & how they would drive around town in there cars with the windows up, to make you think they had ac. when they did not.

This does not sound right at all. Japan is an ultra industrialized country as well as a wealthy one. They are also the world leader in electronics. It would be very difficult to imagine a home not having a TV in Japan in 1979.
Furthermore, the money it would take to buy and install an antenna on a roof of a house, one could go out and buy a TV.
So on both accounts that story makes no sense whatsoever.
Heck, today the majority of cellphones in Japan have built in TVs!

This imitation does not come from Japan, it hails from Tieland where Ingrish is no very good. You should see the instructions with my Chinese made milling machine. "Put the tool in the tool and turn the tool until the tool ..................."
Remember the Japs brought us the first monoblocs via an R1 so I don't think they would bother with plastic imitations.

I know some kid is going to come in for tires with these on his "new" used bike and one of my techs will ruin them with brake cleaner.
