Can I?
I knew someone would ask...
I lowered my Motard's rear shock, so now the kickstand pivot (the little flat area at the end) is at an angle and cuts into the hot Arizona pavement. So before summer I want to replace the kickstand with a new one similar to the one on my Monster. The one I made for my Monster (which had an aluminum kickstand) has the 3" x 3" pivot, in the shape of an "duc foot" (duck foot). I hand milled Monster's pivot, but I cheated this time and has some duck foot blanks CNC'ed to cut production time.
The problem I have is the Motards kickstand is steel. A steel duc foot weighs to much for the spring to comfortably hold in position. Could use a stronger spring, but that would be a lot of guess work to get the correct spring and I finding source. Also I like polished aluminum.
So I got the aluminum kickstand off my buddies 1098R, which looks like it should work. Simple enough right....
Why a duc foot? Just to entertain myself and the displacement works out great. Plus leaving an duc foot pattern in dirt and hot pavement is fun.
I just wondered if anyone has put an 1098 kickstand on there Motards?

When I made the Tubular Rear Sets on the monster I incorporates the rubber foot pegs rubber from the 50's Ducati singles, a secondary brace for the upper kickstand bolt and Ducati 748 style rear break master cylinder. From the stock peg position these are 1" down (X), 1/2" forward (Y) and 1/2" in toward the case (Z).

The Monster exhaust was designed by Mike Lee and dropuced by J.B. Racing in Florida. The system is in five sections. I redesinged the last section to feature decrease back pressure a few years later.

I normally ride the motard to work in heavy down town traffic and on the weekend when I'm cruising with my wife. Either way, I'm not trying to see how far I can lean in the corners. I only do a couple track days a year and I have access to a few 4-value superbikes for that. If I do take it to the track, I would remove the kickstand anyway.

I want an aluminum one with the duck foot too. I'm tired of drinking warm foamy beers to make a pad for support in desert sand. I noticed on the NCR hyper it had the stock steel prop stand with all the unobtanium, cf, and billet, what happened?

No, but I lowered my bike about 1" front & rear, so I need to shorten my kickstand. I have to really watch where I park it, because it has very little lean, and is tippy....
