HYPER build project
Hey All,
Newbie here to this forum. Im taking delivery of my Hypermotard on Monday, Feb 16th and I'm stoked!
The bike is an insurance bike, therefore, Salvage title. It looks to be in decent shape (I'll post pics up tomorrow for anyone that's interested), but I know that I'm in need of bodywork.
Seems like aftermarket carbon bodywork is the way to go, any suggestions or help on brands or websites would be greatly appreciated. I've been lurking here for about a week and read alot of great stuff about the bike!
I know for sure I need both shrouds, tank cover, a clutch cover, a seat, handguards/mirrors, and levers. Until I actually get the bike here, that's all I can see. I will know more tomorrow....
I've found a few different seats on flea bay, stock and racing for reasonable prices, and the handguards and the levers I'll probably just go aftermarket for now to keep the cost down so I can at least ride.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Jason

You can find some body work by searching all of ebay throughout different countries. I needed the right carbon fork guard and the front nose faring and found it all in a day. I paid 70 dollars for the carbon fork guard and 210 dollars for the front fairing. Oppose to paying 250 for a pair of dp carbon fork guards and 697 for the front fairing.

Here are some pictures of the bike. I just got it in today!!! Picture of when I bought it showed the gauges at 23k miles...got it and charged the battery...only 630 miles! Tires are near new, still have the nipples on them! Sucks cuz the title will show the 23k miles, but I'm trying to take good pics so the next owner will know that I'm not BS'ing on the miles.
I need a little help with the tail section. I can tell that it's missing hardware for the seat and the tail light, but not sure exactly what it's missing yet.
It started right up once it had a good battery and I was able to ride it around the neighborhood today. The shifter was slightly bent, so shifting was a problem, but it does go through all the gears without a problem once I bent the shift lever back out!
I'm currently trying to find bodywork, and I already have a seat lined up. Got CRG levers on order and I'll prob just use some aftermarket handguards for now. Anways, hope you enjoy the photos....I'm hoping another 3 weeks and it'll look perfect!!!!

You are missing the battery hold down bracket and I think the seat mount. Maybe some other things without going out to compare.
Out!

Update....
I've located all the parts that I need and the front nose piece is at the painters! Everyone is paid as of this morning so let the shipping commence! I should be able to ride it next weekend if everything comes in on time (minus the bodywork - overseas purchase).
Thanks to everyone on the board for their suggestions and digging through all their parts and leftovers. It is greatly appreciated!
I will post pics up when everything starts to come together.....it won't be perfect (levers work but are slightly bent, aftermarket handguards/mirrors, and a few misc. BS items), but I'm ready to ride and out of money!
Been reading about the exhaust coring...sounds like that's my weekend project!

That was the ONE piece of bodywork that was still on the bike. I didn't have to buy that! It was rashed and it had a small crack, so it's at the painters getting repaired and painted gloss black.
bodywork I had to purchase: tank shrouds, top tank fairing and the top piece for the tail light

Doesn't look like it was crashed to bad. Have you ridden it?(I see the snow) Just wondering if its straight. Had a friend buy a crashed SV that didn't look bad but shook bad at 50+. Let us know.
