I have never done it, but my Mom has a 350Z and I got her a trackday for xmas. It's something she always wanted to do. I went through Track Time for Cars, but they are based on the east coast so that doesnt help you.

Call the tracks close to you (Hearltand Park and Hallett would be my guess), they'll be able to tell you who does track days or they may even do some themselves.

it's fun but expensive compared to the two wheel variety. cone dodging (auto-x) is a cheaper way to get your 4 wheel fix

I tracked my 300ZX Twin Turbo a few years back, and compared to racing/tracking bikes, I honestly found it kind of boring. The car was mostly stock, and nothing was really adjustable, other than tire pressure, so once I got to the point where the front end pushed all the way through turns, there was pretty much nothing else to do.
If you sink tons of time and money into the car and really set it up properly for track use, then I suppose you can get going pretty well in the thing. But I didn't feel like putting that much into it, when a nice track day on just about any motorcycle is so rewarding.
I do have a good friend who used to race bikes with me, who got fast enough that he probably could have qualified for AMA races, but he was crashing a lot and ended up calling it a day. He started taking his car to the track, and really got into it. A couple of years into the car thing, he bought a race-prepped Z06 Vette and started racing it, and he won a few club races with it.
So it's possible to get the car bug after racing motorcycles. It just wasn't for me...

I plan on trying track time 4 cars as recommended above this summer with my WRX. I want to do at least two car track days and 10 bike days. I just bought a house and I think my days of 30 track days are gone for now. Track time 4 cars are the sister club of teampromotion.com, who I do motorcycle track days with. They are primarily on the East Coast though as mentioned above.
I don't have many mods done to my car because it is more of a daily driver and too valuable yet to ruin at the track. I'd say pads and good summer tires are essentual to enjoying a track day and getting your money out of it.

Tracked my Lotus ExigeS for the whole last season. Pocono, NH intern, Watkins Glen, LimeRock..... spent a bit over $40k + cost of the car. Car got totalled 2 month ago and i bought my first Ducati. So i guess i might consider going back to the tracks on my bike.
