just another hyper in the snow...

bike got delivered today

2 things i dislike right away. first, the heat shield thingy on near the termi can. do they make a smaller one? can i just cut this one down? (never worked with carbon fiber) second, the black plastic covers that get installed with the termi 2-1 system. has anyone used the original (s-model) covers that are smaller? how does this look?

thats about it. i've been sitting on it in the garage revving the piss out of it since it's only 20 some odd degrees here. wow, it's kind of loud. that's what my neighbor came over and told me

Kyle, the side panels that came on your bike ( carbon) don't fit with the single sided exhaust any longer, no chance.

The heat guard you can cut down, best way is with a large sanding wheel or dremmel but be careful and take your time and don't breath in the carbon dust.
What's with the two holes there on your foot peg bracket?

I can't be 100% but I was told by others that Ducati as of a few month now does incl. the carbon fiber side panels ( the once you have now in plastic) with the Termi exhaust system. Don't know if that is a fact but I was told so by others. If you don't like the black plastic then an alternative is to paint them to match the frame, looks actually pretty good.

Enjoy your time in your garage

Amen brotha! A very familiar scene.

I too was disappointed that the Termi kit came with black plastic replacement panels instead of carbon fiber. Think I'm gonna do what Shift-Tech said and paint them red.

Speaking of Shift-Tech, I need to order one of their short cf huggers soon

That's true about the Carbon Side panels comming in the new 2-1 kits. The problem is most dealers still have plenty of the old kits with the black plastic covers. Or it could be the other way around and they use to come carbon and now come black. I got the black plastic, painted them gloss black and put stickers on them that match the original Hypermotard 1100S stickers.

My bad, congrats on the new bike. You will love it. We got a 50degree day here in Maryland last Friday put on the heated jacket liner and gloves and rode 150 miles to the Mountains.

I cant imagine having a new bike and no miles by me on it.
