I wouldn't use a Tech 10 for street... they're fairly hot and have an inner
bootie that makes them more work to put on and take off. MX boots also
have less feel of the shifter and pegs and are generally very stiff to upshift
with until well broken in. I find for street riding it is an advantage to be
able to feel just where on the peg you are at all times, where dirt riding
the sawtooth pegs always sit in the slot in front of the heel (and I'd
rather not feel too much of anything through the sole!).

I like the Alpinestars S-MX 5 vented and the Sidi Vertigo Air (non-Corsa is
$300). Both are full length. For short boots I have the Icon Motorhead
which looks like a short MX boot but sadly is no longer available. The
Alpinestars Tech 2 is a similar short boot with the off-road style.

I know guys that ride in sandals and sneakers, but they have ugly feet...

RevIt boots. Fit me best, and the zipper+velcro closure are super easy to put on. I always wanted boots that did not make me look like a clown when walking from the bike to work, dinner, etc. These are very subtle.

Mine are the same as the pic (Fusion), but without the embossed lettering on the side and sans triangular logo on shin/front. $169

For street riding I like boots that I can walk in comfortably. Oxtar Matrix are nice if you have wide feet. I don't so I use Sidi Sports, which I love. Good feel and I can hike in them if I need to. Sidi On Roads and Canyons are nice too. These are all pure street boots although Sidi sort of suggests the Canyons are street or dirt.

Of course, if you want to go all out, there's always Frey Daytonas.

By the way, I love Rev It stuff but when I bought my boots the Rev Its weren't available locally. I wouldn't trade my Rev It summer gloves for anything.

Black Sidi Vertigos here. I've got red Sidi Vortices on backorder at Chicago Performance. The Vortices look like they will provide me the best protection, while also being comfortable.

I've got the Sidi Vertigo Air Corsa and I love them.

However, I now want their replacement (because they are THAT much better) the Vortice. AMAZING boot ... at $475 a pair I think they are a lot of money but, in this case, you get exactly what you're paying for (if not more). Seriously.

I tried the new Vortice on but it didn't feel right, for me.... but I did feel good in the Alpine Star SMX-R.. probably the red stitching LOL... but they felt comfy and fit well; meanwhile I've done about 3,000km in them, and the shift is still a little odd on occasions... I like their venting too...
