New Victim pt. II
Yeah... another one. Just pulled the trigger on an 08' S w/ full termi 2-1 system, ecu, airbox, 14t countershaft sprocket. I added the "comfort" seat based on what i read here. Expectations are high, my previous hooligan bike (traded in, along with an 08 Versys) was a KTM smr450 that I street legal'd. I'm gonna miss her... but I think my rationale was good- the versys was a great commuter (54 miles each way) but after hooning around on the KTM, it was disappointing to ride the kawasaki again to say the least. You ain't doing a 54 mile commute on a 450 race bike... ain't gonna happen (did it once actually, complete suckage) so... drumroll... in a bit of compromise on each front, i've got a daily rider that thinks it's a supermoto and should remain entertaining for many moons to come. I hope.
BTW, I'm in chicago. The bike arrives Friday and it's colder than hell here. I'll probably just stand in the garage and let the heat off of my boner keep the place warm

Kyle,
Congrats from "new victim #1". Sounds like you got some real nice mods, and I am jealous of the S spec. The one that I test rode at the SM motorcycle show had the 2 into 1 Termi set up, and it was an S speciman. A truly wicked symphony in D major.
I was visualizing how a man would contemplate his newly acquired machine in a cold garage (I did the same 3 days ago), and then you had to spoil it... with that viagra-induced image / heating element metaphor. Who knew....that while browsing a bleeding bike forum I would need to don my mental prophylactic !
Enjoy your rebellion against mass produced mediocrity, and remember...it is never too cold to ride...it is just a matter of inappropriate attire.
PS>
I was supposed to move to Chicago, on account of my being Polish. But at this point...I am half merican and half eurotrash, so I will stay in the sf bay area, where being from central europe is relatively unique.
Say hi to the governor.

if eurotrash is still unique out there then enjoy the weather! you can always come to chicago and join the polish guys here who buy dodge sprinter vans- and then buy all the mercedes badging- voila! back in the homeland!
really, part of what makes a city that can spend weeks in the sub-zero temp range a great place to live is the great mix of people... don't know what i'd do without a friday night at my favorite polish karaoke bar.
and really, gov. blagojevich is clearly innocent! didn't you see him on the view? or good morning america? or dateline? ha!
lakeshore drive. great mix of folks driving 40mph and 90mph. late night during summertime can be such a nice ride, esp. if you blast down lower wacker drive once you get downtown (for those who haven't been, it's a 3 or 4 mile stretch of 4-lane completely underground with no cross traffic) hello sonic boom! this time of year, even when temps creep back to reasonable, it's mostly unridable due to mega potholes. the bottomless type. if you have lived there you know what i'm getting at.
