new hyper
Just got my new 1100 hyper on Saturday and am really inpressed with the power delivery. Just waiting on some good weather to come now to get a real god blast on it. I was wondering is it possible to get a smaller sprocket for the back wheel which would give more top end

Welcome!
Hello Desmond, Welcome to our Forum, the stock gearing on our bike is 15-42, and YES the higher gearing (smaller rear sprocket) in theory will give you a higher top-end, but the problem is that our bikes (at least mine) will NOT pull 6th gear to REDLINE, my best top-end (speedo indicated) was 134MPH, so the taller gearing will only make it worse, UNLESS! you were to give your bike some additional HP, than you could probley install a 40t rear sprocket and get more top-end out of her, which is what I'm going to try and and do, Aloha Alex

ciao darsey -
as alex says, welcome!
if you like the hypertard in stock form (power delivery, handling, looks, etc..), just wait until you do an exhaust modification and add one of the dp race ecus. the difference in power delivery is night and day ... MUCH smoother, and more power and torque throughout.
one of the first mods you should consider doing is to cut a hole in the airbox lid and install one of the aftermarket air filters ... k&n, bmc, dna, etc... this mod alone adds about 5 hp to the stock motor.
also suggest you go through the entire bike to check torques on all the nuts and bolts ... just in case your dealer did not do a great job on the pdi and setup.
a presto,
johnc

Welcome to the club, bro, I just picked mine up two weeks ago. I love it but I definetly need to do the airbox/ecu/exhaust mod...God Ducs hate 1st gear haha. Make sure you break her in properly, ya know under 6k rpm for the first 600, then 7k after than for a few hundred more miles.
