Cheap Track Day this Monday $40
I may not be able to make the Fontana track day due to work, so I wanted to at least get some track action.
Monday from 1000 to 1700 is open track day at Adams Kart track in Riverside CA. $40 for anything on two wheels. No crazy in processing or inspections, just quick name and address info. I wouldn’t take my hyper off road, but there is a small dirt section if you have the stones to try it...
Before I get chastised for suggesting a Kart track. The objective is just simple cheap fun. 1st and 2nd gear action the whole time with a slight chance of 3rd gear on the straight. They don’t care if you wheelie the whole track!
$40 is not bad for the chance to master hairpin turns and a chance to master 1st and 2nd gear on your hyper.
Anyway, I’ll be there with a DRZ, Husky, and KTM too.

Repling to my own message... Seems odd. i was asked to post the details at the Rock Store today by a group of Duc riders.
I am all set to go. I will fly at 0800 to 0900. Then head to pick up the trailer rented from Uhaul for $15. My GF will drive the van, i'll follow and load up at Uhaul with my buddy and his bike. One hour drive to Riverside and 30 min for lunch on the way. On the track by 1200 and can ride till 1700.
So far a KTM and DRZ will be there ( I know because i'm bringing them behind my van). There is normaly 2-8 SMs there too. If you dont want to track your hyper, feel free to track the DRZ.

My DRZ isn't very big, could I track it there still?

I"ve ridden my SM bike there but its quite small for a Hyper... good luck. Maybe the Duc riders who asked you to post didn't realized it was a kart track?

Adams is a fun track for a supermoto but too tight for the hyper.

I agree the track is small and a bit tight for a litre bike of any style (sport or hyper). I may give it a shot on the hyper for fun, no hard core slides like the DRZ, but just some practice handling the bike. I took a spill and fractured my left thumb by the way.
I really learned a lot on the DRZ. One, I am getting very comfortable on the DRZ and I think it may be a little tough to out run me in the canyons (excluding the straights of course). I dont mean that to be a challenge or cocky. You just get to do a lot of sliding and backing in turns on a track. Especialy when you follow a pro racer and get some pointers. The track day just really allows one to concentrate without fear of two way traffic and I hope to see some of you guys out there.
By the way. There was a guy on a built RMZ 450 who was awesome and freaking fast as a bat out of hell on one wheel (front or rear). Talk about being humbled...
Next time I go, I'll post earlier and and anyone can feel free to go and ride the DRZ. The DRZ is slow in comparison to the other built up and pure supermotos but fun.

Yep! You would have a good time too. There were two when I went. Maybe buy a 12 tooth front sprocket or borrow mine.

Was it Hanebrink? How was he riding (dirt bike style or knee down)? I saw the old man and his son racing at Grange ... the kid OWNED the track and everyone on it. Wheelies for days, backing it in, overtaking everywhere and anywhere ... AMAZING stuff.

Dirt style, Feet on pegs and out front. Not too much knee down from what i saw. I didnt see him much or for long. he literaly blew by me anywhere on the track. When I saw the rear tire up in the air to adjust it out a bit then put it down to slide it before a turn, i had a feeling I didn't know shit and was humbled.
Yes, he owned the track and the bike had the speed of a litre bike on a larger track. His wheelie limitation was the people in front of him. I'll give him credit on etiquette. He passed everyone in control with both wheels down and wide berth.

That's cool as hell. He knows he owns the place but doesn't beat you over the head with it.
By the way, it was good seeing you earlier. Nice cast!
