I got some half baked instructions with my Top Guns too. I didn't need them, but it would have been nice for reference. They are relatively easy to install, but you have to remove a lot of parts for the undertail, exup, O2 sensor, blinkers, cat, etc. Generally speaking you will have a lot of stock parts left over, but you will use some of the hardware. If you just start removing things it will make sense.

I had to cut a notch in my right side header mount to get it to fit properly, but it still mounts securely. I would recommend removing the Zard heat shield if you don't carry a passenger. It looks way better.

Good luck.

Out!

Depends on your basic skills, but installation is pretty straight and simple.

I have the workshop manual, contains a lot of information about removing the original exhaust. But actually I use it only for torque settings.

- In my case I also had to remove the bracket for the cat, because the mounting point of the front header sits behind it.
- Also I have a rear header with option for the lambda sensor, check first before you remove the cable (what I did, so I routed the cable back). Depends on your ECU if you need a lambda sensor.
- The heat shield I mounted after the complete exhaust was fitted.
- The big bolt which holds the mufflers in place is, in my case, a little to long to mount the zard muffler. You can use an extra spacer for this.
- Because I have the DP-ECU, the stepper motor was removed completely.

Obviously on first mount keep everything lose as possible. When the complete exhaust is fitted, start securing all bolts.

I do not have the DP ecu yet. I was planning on running stock ECU, and PC3.. Is that going to work for now? If anybody has the manual, I would be incredibly appretiative of a copy...

You won't be able to do much programming with the stock ECU. There are a number of threads on this if you do a search. You can find a DP ECU for between $300-350. Then dyno tuning is going to be another $200+, so figure around $500 to get your bike running perfect. I know.................it hurts the pocket book, but mine runs great now.

Out!

If you need a set of the instructions please email me, happy to send them to you.

But, as noted above, Zard is not going to win any awards for the installation sheets...

Easy to email, maybe they will help in some way.

Cool more ???

OK, I just finish installing a Penta system, with Cams ECU and open air box (top & botton), now, I am debating, will be better to remove lambda sensor or leave it, any advantages on leaving/removing it ???

Remove lambda sensor, that's what I did when I installed a full Arrow exhaust system and the cam ECU. Bike runs great!

If you have the cam kit ECU it doesn't matter if you leave it or remove it - the ECU is not receiving any input from the sensor so it is just plugging the hole.

Thanks Anthony, for both, the exhaust and the advise.
