Tyres, alternatives for cold months

After the freeeze of the last few weeks here in the UK, looks like the weather is breaking hear and after Mondays forecast of rain which will wash all the road salt away,I might be able to get out on Tuesday when said to be 10 degrees and sunny-yeah!, Wednesday don't look too bad either,

My concern is the Corsa III tyres on my S, basically there track tyres, not probably the best tyre choice for cold spring temperature roads, I would normally switch them off in favour of Continental Road Attacks, but given the very early season use I guess I could go Pirelli Sync, any other recommendations? Dunlop D616

I like the Scorpion Syncs a lot. On my third set on my KTM 950SM (19k miles), and have no reason to switch to anything else.

The 616's look really cool, but I haven't heard encouraging news regarding mileage.

I also like the Syncs. They definitely cut through the wet and debris and give confidence. They are a great winter choice, but once the temps get up to 40c they can get a bit greasy when pushed hard.

If you are smooth and easy for the first mile or 2 on your oem tyred S, wouldn't you be fine?

I mean, that's what I do on cold mornings doing trackdays...without warmers.
