New Years Eve Run Up Yarnell Hill

Here is a little video I shot today on our run up Yarnell Hill. It was a short ride, but the weather was perfect. The sound quality isn't great with the wind noise, but you can hear the Zards sing a little. That is my buddy on his FZ1 just ahead of me.

I shot this video by strapping my little Sony camera (Cybershot DSCT100) to my radar detector mount with a mini bungee cord. That being said the higher resolution versions turned out pretty well, but this lower resolution one I loaded on YouTube isn't as good since they increase the size of the image when you upload it.

Yeah, they tarred and feathered it sometime between early November and early December. The left lane generally has more snakes than the right. In fact, if you look at the early video portion of the video I am trying to avoid them as they are more prevalent in both lanes. Haven't had a slip yet, but it was relativley warm up there for the season............maybe 50*+F.

Overall, it is still a great stretch of road (albeit short), since it is double lane with wide shoulders all the way up. Coming down its a bit of a goat trail in some spots, but not bad. If you can hit it while the Gostopo isn't there you can get a few good runs in..............we did four runs this trip and two Gostopo passed by when we were grabbing a drink of water at the gas station up top.

There were lots of Gostopo out this trip.........the radar detector was working overtime. I suppose it comes with the territory trying to round up the holiday drunks.

Out!
