Best was on a BMW
Hot summer night, heading the 20 miles home from city on R1200S. Just as I pulled onto interstate at midnight, traffic moving 5MPH. Grrrrr. Patiently paddled along in right lane, staying in left edge of lane (3 lanes narrowing down to 2 for bridge work). After 1/2 mile or so, old fart in Ford Taurus who had been following me decides to pull up beside me - to take my place. Baseball hat on with brim completely flat, ancient.
I proceeded to kick his door 4-5 times hard, I know it dented in. He started coming over after me to do the squeeze.
I took off, between the lanes of traffic, riding the 1/4 mile to end of construction & then, hitting it for ride home. Say a BMW is no good for lane splitting? Worked that night.
I stayed off the yellow bike for a week or so after that.
Does that count?

This summer, in heavy traffic and on a 4 lane road, I'm driving between the cars up to the red light. When I'm almost at the lights they turn green and that's the signal for me to begin a wheelie, still driving between the cars. I make it all the way to the next light a kilometre further and am really satisfied about this nice wheelie but I'm thinking to myself " there's a big police station here, and they're just at the end at their shift, so I better be a little careful"
As I turn my head a car stops to my right, the window goes down, and there is a cop in his unmarked car. I begin sweating but all he says is " there's something wrong with your driving style, take it easy, not only for you, but also for the other people".I could only agree and very sheeply said "sorry officer, you are right"! At the next traffic-lights he opens his window again and asks me if that is a new model Ducati, as he hasn't seen one like that.

The other day I was riding with Oalvarez from The Rock Store to Pro Italia ... that translates to a lot of freeway time.
Now, I'm usually a lane-splittin' mo fo but I quickly learned that Obie is not. So, for the sake of the ride, I hang back and doddle along in traffic ... which quickly gets boring. I start leaving more and more distance between myself and the car in front of me - this is known as the Wheelie Zone.
So there I am, in stop and go traffic on the 101 freeway, lofting wheelies to keep myself occupied. Kids are hanging out there windows cheering and smiling and the Bros in their lifted Metal Mulisha pickup trucks and flat-biller baseball caps are gawking.

That's why I don't like to ride in town in traffic. I can't stand not to be riding wheelies at every light or slow spot.
A couple weeks back Allen (Duc_54) and I were out for a ride and on the way back in to town we hit a mobile photo radar SUV parked along the highway north of my house. Everyone is getting on the brakes hard, so I shut 'er down too. About 100 feet off the rear bumper of the SUV I rolled on the throttle and ride a wheelie past the camera. I guess we never got up to speed, since it didn't flash, but I think Allen's eyeballs did. Screw 'em if they can't take a joke.
Out!

Here I am, not long into Hyper ownership... after taking off to head to work one morning come upto a row of traffic...Bang, oops... the mirrors... "Sorry"...ride on through... quick takeoff at the lights come along to the next bank up.... Bang... of shit... those mirrors... "Sorry..."(laughing stupidly this time).... well i came up to the next bank up in traffic... I think quick...get those mirrors in... wobble... wobble... Bang... oh...my elbow...ouch... folded one mirror too late HAHAHA... by this time I realise my Christmas present will be a set of upright mirrors and new handguards!!!!
not very hooligan, but just as silly!!!!
Price of a folding, heated, auto-dipping side mirror for a nice Merc: $3700.00.... the face of the owner as you slap it with your elbow.... priceless (quick getaway prevents more embarrasment!!)

Every time I start the Hyper up is a hooligan moment!!! But I never wheelie my Hyper.
So Alex and I have done a few track days together now and we always manage to get a little dirtbike riding in while we're out there. The always tell us if you go off, stay off and wait it out. Well we all know that's not going to happen. If you go off, throttle it up and keep going is our motto!!
However, this last time at Buttonwillow I didn't go off the track and Alex did...... twice. So when we went to Laguna Seca we made an agreement that who ever goes off the track has to pay the other $10... for each time. Turns out I only made $10 off Alex that day, but I was right behind him and got to watch the whole thing (turn 3). All I could do is laugh and say to myself, "Thanks for the $10 Alex" as I passed him

The other day on the Hyper I transitioned from a 3rd gear stand up wheelie to a sit down wheelie and rode it another 100 yards, that was a 1st for me and fun.
But my funny hooligan story took place 5 years ago when I lived in Minneapolis MN on a TL1000s (another fine wheelie machine) Me and 2 buddies went for a ride around town one night about midnight. We pulled up to a 4 way stoplight that was red. I quickly looked around for cops because I knew one of us would do something stuped. I failed to notice a cop stopping at the light on the street to our right. Just before the light went green I lit the back tire up in a burnout creating a nice sized cloud of smoke around my buddies. When the light turned green one buddy shot off racing through the gears. I eased off the front brake a little and started forward continuing into the intersection smoke still rolling off the rear tire. As I got about 15 feet out I slid back on the seat and pulled it up into a wheelie shifting into second gear and riding it a block down the street. Later when our third friend caught up (he saw the cop and rode slowly) he told us that the cop sat there and slowly shook his head back and forth in dis-belief.
I was lucky he let me get away with it that time. I mellowed out after that around the city.
