F@#king Weak!

So some jack-hole decides it would be a swell idea to try and lift my Hyper on X-mas. The worst part is that they left something in the lock cylinder.

Totally lames.

Any idea on how much a new lock will cost? I might try a locksmith this weekend.

Sorry to hear about your awful Christmas surprise.

You may have problems other than just the lock. There's a ring inside that plastic piece that picks up the key signal for the anti-theft key system. Hopefully that didn't get broken. Let us know how you make out.

Hope you have a better new year's eve.

Sorry to see that. I bet a locksmith will be able to get that out of there, if there isn't any internal damage you will be good to go. The upside, is you can add a new carbon fiber cover and it will look good. Good luck getting it sorted out!

Out!

Glad to see they weren't successful.I hate SF for this reason.Reminds me of the time someone busted out a $900 window in my VW camper to get to the change in my cup holder!
Hopefully the security ring survived as it sits high in the plastic cover. With any luck you will be able to extract the broken key or whatever it is without damage to the cylinder. Then all you have to do is replace the plastic cover with the one that comes with your new Scotts rotary steering damper and viola!
Good luck man, that sucks.

sad shape of the world when you can't even park a motorcycle on the street and not have it messed with.

parking bikes in the tenderloin and other not so great areas of the city also holds the worry of crack heads breaking the spark plug heads off to get the ceramic insulation to use for smoking their crack. nice when you go to start the bike up and it miss fires like a monkey in heat

Thanks for the support guys. I just needed to vent.

Does anyone know if the ignition switch connected by those two nuts holding the cover on as well, or its more complicated?
