Indy Moto GP August 30 INFO- Tickets Seats Eats Lodging Routes
I asked Santa for Indy tickets. I have been a bad boy, so I need help.
I know the Moto GP Brickyard tickets are on sale but I do not know where the best seats are. I hear the Kentucky Kids fans all sit together somewhere but their fans are pretty lame (not). Which turns? stands?
I've heard its good to stay in places outside (West) of town about 20 minutes. Motels? Cities?
We'd like to hear where you should park your bike.
Most, like me, love a barley sandwich or two, so any eatery/pub suggestions?
The Indy Ducati Club had an open race day at the Putnam Race Track the day after the race last year and I'm going to guess that a sign up will be again posted soon for 2009.
It would be nice to see some nice off highway routes posted, North, South, East, and West.
Thanks for posting any help! No rain or wind this year, promise!
PS
Andi if the Transport will not carry you here from NZ, fly-in and Rent-a-Tard.

Cities- Thanks Bob
Noblesville, Carmel, & Fishers are all nice places to stay the night. I know some like to be right down on the track but I think it is more fun to ride there than to be there. It's just enough of a ride to be fun and when you park it for the night the location is much quieter and I think safer too for exotic bikes. When you are right down there near the track the bike doesn't even have time to warm up. The track is always a lot of walking by itself and adding 2 miles to walk to the track from a nearby hotel is just too much in my opinion. Hence the decision to get close proximity parking. We learned a lot last year and 09 is going to be even better.

If you need a list of hotels, let me know and I'll put one together for you.
I'd stay downtown rather than north (Fishers, etc). MNost of the night time stuff is within walking distance of the Circle and the track is only about 7-8 miles away.

Downtown
Some hotels would be great!
How about some good places go or eat?
Any problem parking the bike downtown at the hotel?
Do you have thoughts on best place to watch the race?

Good Seat Info?
It seems like getting near a "tron" and viewing the chicanes is better than higher priced paddock and village along straights:
"Regarding grandstands: For the race, if I were to recommend a stand now for a first-time visitor, I think I would almost suggest going back in Turn 2, so Stand G or the S.E. Vista. The primary reason is that IMS management removed the Inside Turn One stands to prepare for last year's MotoGP (motorcycle race) in September. By doing this, it opened that corner up BIG TIME for viewing. It's almost a new look to a 100-yr-old-track. By sitting somewhere in Turn 2, you get most (if not all) of Turn 1, all of the South Chute, all of Turn 2, and most (if not all) of the backstretch, plus you have 2-3 video boards in front."
Can anyone second this as good 2009 Moto GP seating information?
