Ducati Dealer Visit

I was at the Duc dealer over in Scottsdale getting my bike dialed in on there dyno on Saturday and made some observations.

They had a Desmocidici, 1098R, and a 1098S all tricked out. The Desmo was very cool looking and different, but I liked the 1098R the best. They fired up the 1098s and the S actually sounded a lot better fthan the R for some reason.

They also had some new Hypers both 2008 and 2009. The 2009 S model has new carbon fiber with a much larger weave. It looked to be of much nicer quality that a lot of carbon I have seen, but I did not care for the weave as it looked like a napkin or tablecloth. I guess DP will sell more matching stuff that way.

They had a 2009 full dress white Multi that looked great with all the bags and termis. It had a STI clutch slave that had a very light pull, much lighter than my MPL I am using on my Hyper.

Final conclusion..............I need about $100K for new bikes.

Out!

Hahaha...I feel the same way whenever visiting my local shop. They have a 98R too; man do I ever want that thing in a bad way.

The 998R is one of my Wish List Ducatis.

But, more to the point of Axe's original post, what d'you guys think of the new '09 carbon weave?

I think the new weave looks like shit. Reminds me of a wicker basket...

One more thing..........................I concluded that the frame on the Multi is the nicest looking of all Duc products. I like the one piece frame/subframe. Also, the silver cases on that bike look way better than the gold.

Out!
