Rizoma Avio 21 Turn Signals...
Just thought I'd post an update on my Rizoma Avio 21 turn signals.
A while back I removed my OEM handguards then started screwing around with different ideas for front turn signal replacements. I kept having difficulty finding a solution that I liked the look of and that functioned correctly. The flash rate was always too fast which bugged me. I was faced with trying to figure out what resistor to buy and where to get it. And, I didn't like the warnings I kept reading about the heat reisitors generate.
Finally, I just ordered a pair of Rizoma Avio 21's with Rizoma Hypermotard turn signal brackets.
The brackets are attached to the bike by the lower most tank side panel screws so the turn signals are positioned directly below the side panels on each side of the bike. I think they look pretty good. My bike is black and I got black turn signals so they don't call a whole lot attention to themselves. A couple of other colors are available too. The best part is they work perfectly. The flash rate is just right, the flash indicator on the speedo works just as it should and they are very bright. I'm pleased.
Although each turn signal comes with two sets of resistors, there is no need to use them on the front. For use on the rear I think you'd need to use one resistor on each side. But, no resistor is needed on the front to make them flash at the right rate. They do have little black boxes called load balancers that I did use because there's a sticker on them that says "Must be Used."
Rizoma also has a couple of other styles of turn signals which could be used the same way. I assume the electrical hook up would be the same, but, YMMV on that. I know the Avio 21's work like a champ!

Rizoma Avio 21
Sounds great! I have the Rizoma Avio 21 on the back of my bike.
FYI, the "load balancers" black boxes are actual voltage reducers. The Rizoma "Avio 21" are 6volt lights. Without the black boxes the bulbs with burn out as soon as there turned on.

Hey TruboMonster, thanks for the info...that's a good thing to know.
Did you use resistors on your rear-mounted Avio 21's?
I'm thinking about using a set of Rizoma Zero-11's on the rear of my bike...I wonder if they will hook up like your Avio 21's?

I didn't need the resistors for the back. The black boxes must be compensating for the load difference. I didn't change any of the computer setting either.
I haven't installed the Avio 11's, but I was told all the new Rizoma are basically the same electronics.
