Socal riders, need your help!

My brother and I are getting tired of the snow here in Canada so we're trailering our bikes down to San Diego to stay with my aunt for a few weeks over Christmas break and do some riding.

Where are the best areas to ride near San Diego? A few people I've talked to here have said that we have to ride to Temencula. I've also heard mention of Palomar mountain.

What do you guys suggest?

There are tons of rides you can do in and around San Diego County. Temecula? pretty boring there, but north of there and east of there are fun. Ortega Highway and Idlewild are a hoot.
There are a series of good Canyons that drop down east to the desert valley. My faves are Montezuma Grade, Wynola Rd to Banner Grade, Mesa Grande(the Hideaway is a fun Biker bar at the north end of it), Highway 94 is smooth and fun going out to Boulevard (breakfast at Protrero is really good). Palomar is really fun but it can get really crowded and there are almost always CHP's on the weekends. the small back roads around Ramona are good too.
There is now in our local mountains right now so you may be limited in where to go.

forget Ortega, too much traffic. Palomar is popular but if it is slightly wet it will never get dry because of the shade and elevation

The absolute best riding road in the world is called Montezuma Hwy near Borrego

Another good road is so called Palms to Pines -- between Palm Desert and Banning.

Heck, I even have a map of all the roads:

If you feel adventurous you can try MEX 2 across the border (cross in Tecate - no line and no crime)
