Tail piece broken?

Hi everyone,

The upper plastic tail piece of my Hypermoto seems to be broken, as it's quite loose over the tail light.
There is a little white plastic clip that might be broken... Is it common? Any remedies?

Grazie mille!

ciao fratello -

there are two plastic flag bosses on the tail piece cove ... remove the seat, remove the small allen screw that secures the tail piece cover, then gently push the cover forward to remove it. once off, look to see if the flag bosses are intact. if they are, then carefully slide the cover back into place, making sure the flag bosses are positioned correctly, then screw the allen screw in place.

of course, if the flag bosses are broken, take the part to your dealership to have it replaced under warranty, then install the new one carefully.

a presto,
johnc

mine broke when i took it off probably. can't be arsed to fix it tho as its not slowing me down and its not going to fall off. double sided velcro would be the best fix as the tabs will just break again

i think 3 of mine are broke off and the others almost. There is white plastic dust all under mine tail piece from where the plastic rubs the black tail light piece. They break because of the vibrations from the bike. I dont know if this is a warranty fix or not

Mine were broke within a few months or riding. I haven't asked my dealer about it, since it doesn't seem to be affected, except is sits a little higher and not flush with the bottom. I agree, unless the new design is better, some velcro or double sided tape would be a better fix.

Out!

I'd say a gentle tug whilst trying to see how it was held on, its s shit house design that was never going to last. I bet a dealer couldn't get it off without breaking it. they break everything else.
