S front brake vibration/sound
When you hit the front brake real hard it sounds like a garbage truck's brakes.
Just before you are dead stopped.
Slight vibration is felt and a howling sound not a squeal is heard.
This is not the sound of the vents cut in the disc.
Any ideas?

Mine does the same thing. A loud howling sound just before I come to a stop. I'd really like to get it figured out as well.

A little high temp silicone on the back of the pads should take care of it.

I found that the majority of the sound was radiating from the carbon fiber front fender. I removed the screws and installed rubber washers between the posts and the fender and the sound was eliminated. Just tap on the fender with your finger tip and you will most likely hear it rattle. The screws bottom out before they fully contact the fender and the plastic washer. Try this first before trying something more complicated, plus it will on cost about a dollar for rubber washers. If you are in CA you can get them at OSH.

apply a thin coating of silicon spray on the rotors ... stops the squealing right away.
of course, the brakes cease to work ... but at least the darn squealing is gone.
legal notice: johnc's suggestion above is a JOKE. DO NOT attempt to apply silicon spray on the rotors of your bike (or car), as DEATH may result.

I get the same annoying noise - but it goes away after a good thrashing at the track. Usually takes about a day of city riding to come back again.
