Last Ride?
I wrapped up a one year consulting position yesterday, glad to be free of software recruiting for a while.
Today, in eastern Massachusetts, we hit 50 degrees briefly between 11:30 and 2:30, which I got some of. Took my Hyper out and got 50 miles logged just before it started raining, with temp dropping fast.
Wish you all the best in your respective riding venues, I envy you folks that have some of the best riding ahead of you... Believe me I'm thinking BUY A TRAILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!hike to So Cal, Louisiana, Texas, Florida, Arizona, New Mexico, you get my drift.
Seasons best wishes!
RS

I feel your pain, with snow coming this weekend. I still refuse to take it off the road, just in case we do get anymore "warm" days. I didn't get to ride enough after I bought it.

I rode yesterday morning to work but it was 69 degrees...
Then i drove to the dealership and finially bought the racin seat for $260 and that was with 10% off
It is so much better than the POS stock seat
I was hoping to see the 2009 hypers but they only had a few S models left

Yeah, I had to switch to my leather vented gear from my mesh gear since the lows are almost hitting 50 degrees. Arizona is a little wierd, I can head an hour or so north of town and be in the snow in the mountains.
Out!

You guys have some beaut riding countryside, but to not ride for so long due to the snow would drive me mad.... on the east side of this little island ( riding) paradise it nudged around 87.6F today with a few odd showers around... we have to put up with this for the next 3-4 months you know
Happy Christmas to you all!! We'll be thinking of you and put up a few pic-reports now & then to keep you warm ok!!
(here's one from last Sunday, last day of winter....)

Its over for me in NJ till spring, but I did do a lot of riding up through last weekend with heated gear. There are a lot of random ice patches in shady spots, residual gravel/salt in spots from a black ice event last week, and generally unpredictable crappy road conditions. Surgery next week anyway so I have no choice, which is probably good in case I'm tempted by a nice day.
Next spring I'm planning a weekend trip up to the NY Adirondacks and Vermont. As many backroads and as little slab as possible. Stay in Lake Placid, hit the brew pub, more awesome roads the next day. If any of you NJ/NY guys are interested keep it in mind, once the weather is consistant, roads clean, and I'm healed.

Glen,
My inlaws are in VT, so let me know when you go, and I'll see if I can get permisison to go........
But let me pose this to you and Bill; my storage is indoors but unheated. What do you guys do with your battery, and in general. And, is it ill advised to crank her over every week while in storage and run for some minutes to let the fluids flow?
Thanks guys,
Steve

Last Friday was my last ride (for the season and on my '08 Hyper S).
The bike is officially totaled.
I hope the 09 forks are better than the 08!

I've never put my bikes away for the winter in my 23 years of riding in NJ. Sometimes I may not get out for a week or two but as long as I can find some dry roads I take them out.
