Cams are for Life

A thought,

Once installed they really there there for good, so is the race pipe and ECU really, to return the bike to standard for re-sale would be expensive, you could not return it to standard and leave the cams in, it would not run right?, it;s expensive too to walking away from the cost of the cams and race pipe, the race pipe upgrade is a nice one, but I am uncertain of the cam upgrade for the reasons above, how have people got around it?

I'm happy with the cams. I havent done any motor work but added the cams to the already full 2-1-2 system, PC3, and airbox mod and am happy. I noticed no loss in torque as others have mentioned. Bike gained 5 hp, and 3 ft lbs torque. It's a sunk cost just so you know

the bike should get 5hp just from the airbox mod.

Well my bike is stock, except for Zard slip-ons and JC Borders O2 manipulator. Had a race last weekend from the border to Palen Creek with a GSXR1000, later chatted with the pilot who had admitted to using first gear the whole way.

I could hear his Akropovic screaming over my thunder and he was dancing from side to side (hanging off), and spending a lot of time on the brakes. When we pulled up he was totally stuffed. His mates later invited me to ride with them every weekend coz none of them can keep him in sight.

He has a lighter bike (if you believe advertising), twice the horsepower and the whole package is based on a race bike.

I sat there like I was watching the opera, relaxed and enjoying the show. He never got more than 20 meters away.

I know power is intoxicating and every body wants more, but the point is you can't use it IN CORNERS, only when the bike is getting closer to vertical are most people game to go WFO.

If most riders spent the same amount they intended for exhausts and other associated bling, on Advanced Rider Training they will gain a lot more in BRAIN POWER. Something they keep for life which will make all their bikes faster.

Long live the Tards!
