Tapered steering head bearings?
Anyone know where to find, or who makes a set of tapered bearings for a Hyper?
These from Speedymoto do not work, at least per my dealer:

Thanks!
Chris

I'm no mechanic, but I did check 3 different parts catalogs. The Hyper 1100S, 999R and 06 Sport Classic, all have the same part number for the steering head bearing 702.4.004.1A. What does that mean, I don't know.

sorry to bump a dead thread but I need steering head bearings.
Local dealer has them backordered.
Stock setup has no seal on top, gee, I wonder why they are bad?
what is the issue with the speedymoto stuff?

yeah ... what's up with the speedymoto bearings?
speedymoto is run by folks who usually know their stuff, so i would be surprised if something they market does not work.

called speedymoto three times today, left a message first thing this morning.
No luck so far.
The bearings are listed on their website as not available, so the plot thickens.
But, their pictured kit has a seal included.
It would be irresponsible to go through the hassle of brg replacement and not install at least a dust guard.

"All Balls" has a set of Ducati tapered roller bearings. I installed them in my bike last winter with no drama. They are quite likely the identical bearings available from any other source. I remember paying less than $50.00.
Any shop with a Parts Unlimited catalog can order them for you.
