Need red front fairing, broken ( duckbill )...

Last Sunday, while on a traffic jam on a uphill road, the SUV in front of me backed up ( engine died ) and hit my bike on the front fairing with its spare tire. All but one the fairing mounts cracked and the fairing is in really bad shape.
Also the right side ( red ) plastic shock tube protector has a crack.
I found that a new fairing is over $700 bucks + 7% tax !!!
Does this part have a few ounces of gold metal flakes on the paint, or is it of a special molecular compount that makes it absorb drag ? In case Ducati thinks all Ducati owners are rich, I am living proof that it is not true.
The guy wants to pay for the part, but I guess he will have a heart attack when he finds out how much it cost, and I will have buy it. He is not rich either, so I fell sorry for him even when he broke my new bike.

So I`m looking for a used fairing and a right fork guard, in case anybody has one for sale.

I will have 2 front carbon fiber (S model) fork guards... (once the insurance company officially totals my bike )

Believe me, I feel your pain. What didn't really seem like much of a wipe out at the track has cost me about 4k to fix. And I rode the bike home without hitch... (well, needed to make a few adjustments)

After searching for parts for months, I've found eBay to be the best bet for getting one for less than Ducati charges. You need to do a global search and be ready to buy from Italy or somewhere.

Or, like pedro says - buy a cheap carbon one (eBay) and get it painted- that would be fastest and cheapest.
